SoCoMCM’s membership is made-up of those interested in Modernist Ideals and the Promotion and Preservation of the Architecture and Culture of Chicago’s Southland. Ownership of a MCM home or property is not required.

Currently the Events, Research and Resource committees are Planning Events for 2025 that will bring people together to share expertise and promote our modernist history.
Planned events include book signings, restoration information sessions, and private home tours. 2025 will be an impactful and fun year for SoCoMCM and we want you to be a part of it!
2024 was the year of formation, SoCoMCM became a registered nonprofit organization, established a board of directors, organized committees, hosted 3 events, and began documenting our history and available resources within a social context; our growing database is over 140 properties and we will continue to expand opportunities to learn, gather and tour Southland’s MCM Architecture. 2024 was financed by sponsors and our founders and 2025 will be our first year with membership

Each membership will support our activities while providing you with access to Events and Resources
Individual Membership Include:
Member and a guest can attend members-only events (a separate event fee may apply)
Member and guest can participate in events that are open to the public at the discounted member fee
Access to research database for historic homes
Access to restoration and preservation resources
While also providing SoCoMCM the resources to continue to document and bring awareness to our Mission and the Southland’s Modernist History
